Solutions from South Africa: The Future of the West

Solutions from South Africa: The Future of the West
  • The Afrikaners have a saying “n Volk red homself!” which means “A nation saves itself!”

I was extremely honored to sit down with Dr. Ernst Roets and Joost Strydom to discuss solutions to the violence against the Afrikaner minority in South Africa and their response to President Trump’s executive order Addressing the Egregious Actions of the Republic of South Africa.

This order recognizes the racially motivated violence against farmers in South Africa and offers them asylum in the US. However, this independent people group has deep ties to the land they’ve cultivated for longer than the US has been a nation.

“Yes, you can live in another place. You can you can survive. You can even economically thrive. But it doesn’t mean that you continue to exist as what you are…”

While grateful for US recognition and the opportunity for asylum, South Africans are a hard-working and determined independent people of their own.

“A nation saves itself… but we also have friends… As the West, we are under attack.”

Dr. Ernst Roets is the former Deputy CEO of Afriforum, author of Kill the Boer: Government Complicity in South Africa’s Brutal Farm Murders, and the founder of the Pioneer Initiative, an exciting new think tank dedicated to sustainable solutions for inter-community peace in South Africa.

White Papers is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Joost Strydom is living one such solution in Orania. He is the head of the Orania Movement, an independent cultural community in North South Africa.

“South Africa is in many ways a warning—a canary in the coal mine for Westerners about their future unfolding in real time. When demographics and liberalism and communism meet into one big so-called melting pot… We can also say, well, we’re testing out some of the solutions.”

Thank you for watching! Have you been to South Africa or visited Orania? Let us know in the comments!
